How to Get Your Team to SMI
Follow these steps in order to ensure your team is registered, entered, and ready to race.
Receive the Invitation
Your team must receive an official invitation from the SMI organizing committee. Download the 2026 invitation below.
Register Your Team
Complete team registration through the SMI portal. Confirm your team’s participation and pay the team registration fee.
Submit Entries
Enter your swimmers into individual and relay events before the entry deadline. Entry limits apply — review the invitation carefully.
Review Heat Sheets
Heat sheets are distributed prior to the meet. Review your swimmers’ seedings and heat/lane assignments.
Complete Payment
All entry fees must be settled before the meet. See the payment section below for accepted methods and deadlines.
Show Up & Race
Arrive with your team early, check in at the coach’s table, and get your swimmers warmed up. Let’s race!

What You Need to Know
Individual Event Limits
Each swimmer may enter up to 3 individual events. Refer to the official invitation for any exceptions.
Relay Entries
Teams may enter relay events per the GKAISA guidelines outlined in the invitation. Relay-only swimmers must be designated at entry.
Age Groups
Age is determined as of the first day of the meet (July 11, 2026). All standard GKAISA age groups apply.
Late Entries
Late entries may be accepted at the discretion of the meet director with a late fee. Contact us before the deadline to discuss.
Entry Times
Entry times must be from the current or preceding competitive season. Non-conforming entries will be seeded at the end of the slowest heat.
Fees & Payment
All fees are outlined in the official invitation. Payment must be received before the meet.

How the Meet Is Scored
Scoring System
SMI uses standard GKAISA team scoring. Points are awarded for individual event and relay placements.
Meet Software
The meet is run using COC Meet Manager. Results will be posted following each session.
Scratch & Scratch Relays
Coaches must submit scratches at the scratch table by the posted deadline prior to each session.
Official Results
Final results, meet records, and awards are announced at the conclusion of the meet. Digital results will be posted post-meet.
